I am a screenwriter and children's book writer. I also write essays and novellas. I have a background in the financial industry. I have a bachelor's degree in Political Science from Boston University.
I am currently working on a screenplay titled The Mogul's Code and a children's book titled Buddy's Town. The screenplay is set in Hollywood after World War II. A private investigator and a reporter are looking into claims of murder, arson and kidnapping.

I am currently working on a screenplay titled The Mogul's Code and a children's book titled Buddy's Town. The screenplay is set in Hollywood after World War II. A private investigator and a reporter are looking into claims of murder, arson and kidnapping.
Buddy's Town is a chapter book, aimed at ages 8 through 12. It follows the adventures of a talking cat named Buddy and his friends, who include cats, other animals and people.
The Mogul's Code is set in Hollywood in 1948. The "Code" in question is the family-oriented philosophy of the owner of Hollywood's Colossal Studios. Has he killed and kidnapped to uphold it?
The man pictured is Harry Cohn, the much feared owner of Columbia Pictures. The character Milton Marsden is a composite and is partially based on him.
I will soon resume working on a novella titled The Batman of Balliol. This is a satire of the 1960's Batman tv show. I have created the character Victor Morton, a.k.a. Vic the Vigilante. He is based on Mort Sahl, the comedian, who almost married Yvonne Craig, the actress who played Batgirl/Barbara Gordon. Sahl was a critic of the United States without being an enemy of it. In the novella, I have tried to create a parallel with his criticism of Gotham City, which is wedded to his love of it.
I am putting the finishing touches on an essay about the Magnum P.I. tv show, titled Rome Never Dreamed of Thomas Magnum. Ancient Romans had an ideal of one dimensional tunnel vision service to the empire that Magnum rejected in his service to the United States. I have analyzed Magnum's struggle to reconcile his duty bound self with his personal self. He gave up many years of freedom for his military service, leading to his decision to become a (sometime) private investigator in sunny Hawaii. I found George Orwell's dichotomy between Don Quixote and Sancho Panza very helpful. I wrote the following:
George Orwell would have understood Magnum’s dilemma. He wrote persuasively and poignantly about the tug of war, in each of us, between the fictional characters Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. Magnum serves, uneasily for him but helpfully for us, as the symbol of the struggle Orwell described so well.
And I hope to write an essay tentatively titled The Jewish Carpenter of Broadway. The Jewish carpenter in question is Arthur Miller, who was an avid amateur carpenter, best known for writing Death of a Salesman. I am convinced that he was dyslexic, and equally convinced that, strangely enough, having dyslexia helped him in his career.
I have several ideas for future movie projects. As an example, I would like to write a screenplay about Dr. Seuss and Charles Lindbergh. Dr. Seuss, whose real name was Ted Geisel, was a political cartoonist before becoming a full time children's book writer. Before the United States entered World War 2 he created numerous cartoons that were extremely critical of Lindbergh's isolationism and Nazi sympathies.
